Legumes and beans are very nutritious
Legumes are a group of vegetables that includes beans, peas and lentils. Legumes are low in fat and high in nutrients and contain many vitamins and fiber. They are a less expensive source of protein than meat and fish.

Also a healthy source of carbohydrates

Beans and legumes are not only a healthy source of protein, but also an excellent source of complex carbohydrates.

Examples:

Chickpeas, lentils, black beans, kidney beans, split peas, navy beans, pinto beans, peanuts, edamame are some examples.

Bottom line:

Try different beans and legumes and make them part of your diet. They are superfoods and are among the best sources of fiber available.
